Hi, I’m Marc!

I’m currently running for city council, seat 5, in Independence, Oregon. I’ve lived here in Independence with Cheryl, my wife of 33 years, and our children since 2001. We are now happy to have two grandchildren bless our lives. For the last 23 years I’ve operated a local non-profit and worked closely with families in the community, including volunteering to coach and organize sports leagues, mentorship programs and an array of other community activities. I’ve also done a substantial amount of motivational speaking for both local and international crowds. My wife and I are passionate about our community and have worked with local children, teens, seniors, and veterans.

I’ve spent my life giving my time not only to the community, but to my family. I’ve always done my best to ensure financial security, having remained debt free in my personal, business, and volunteer endeavors, and hope to continue with that mentality as a public servant.

The experience I’ve gained working in the private sector has taught me how to work within a given budget, stretch a dollar to accomplish a given task, and get things done in an efficient and timely manner. I strive for excellence and to achieve expectations.

My time working with the public has taught me how to be accommodating for others, flexible in trying times, a team player, candid, perceptive of needs, and how to be patient and kind in the face of adversity.

In my free time I enjoy taking walks around our beautiful community and through the 7th Street Inspiration Garden. I love hiking and travelling throughout the U.S., reading inspiring books, and spending time with family and friends.

I’m excited to have this chance to serve our community! Remember to vote!
